We Will Get Through This Together! As a student who is new to DSPS or Hartnell, students need to complete the registration and intake process with a DSPS counselor, before eligibility for accommodations and services can begin.

Steps to Register with DSPS

Before you get started, please have your Hartnell ID number ready. You will need to enter the number on your Application for Services. If you do not have an ID number, you will first need to

Please ensure you are listing your most up-to-date phone (preferably cell) number and Hartnell student email address on your application.

  1. Complete the  online form, and click on "Submit" after completing the form.
      • You can now add your Verification of Disability at the bottom of our form
      • Discussion of the DSPS Policies and Procedures will occur in your meeting with a DSPS counselor.

Have your medical professional complete the  and submit to DSPS via email or through the electronic submission process. Please note, the license number of the medical professional needs to be listed on the form. When electronic submission is not available, please bring in person to DSPS office or email to dsps@hartnell.edu.

Note: Steps 1 and 2 need to be completed before an appointment can be scheduled.  

Accommodations are discussed and established during a student's intake appointment with a DSPS Counselor. An accommodation letter will be issued for each enrolled course at the time of the appointment. 

What to Expect After Accommodations are Established

Once student accommodations are established, the counselor/specialist will communicate accommodations to instructors. Students are responsible for self-advocating. Students are responsible for obtaining their accommodations for each semester. If accommodations are not being provided, please reach out to DSPS office.
